Home Energy Score

The Home Energy Score is a score from 1 to 10 rating a home on how it uses the energy produced in it.  It is a Department of Energy sponsored program comparing homes across the country and is similar to the MPG rating for automobiles.  It has been tied to financing incentives and has been madated by local governments across the country.  As home inspectors, we are perfectly positioned to roll out this program because we already collect most of the required data during an inspection.  If you would like more information, please contact us at info@macashi.org.  To become a Home Energy Score Assessor through ASHI, contact Jen Gallegos at jeng@ashi.org.
