Busting Rumors and Myths of Indoor Environmental Issues by Jocelyne Melton

Jocelyne Melton is the CEO and President of Baxter Group, Inc., an environmental testing and abatement company serving Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.  Founded in 1989 as an asbestos abatement company, Baxter Group, Inc. has expanded into providing testing and abatement of asbestos, lead, mold, radon, and indoor environmental contaminants.  Baxter Group, Inc. also provides basement waterproofing, duct cleaning, and renovations.  Many clients from residential to commercial, educational, medical, government, and industrial rely on their expertise to identify and eliminate indoor environmental issues.

In 2019 the SBA named Baxter Group, Inc., Small Woman-Owned Business of the Year for Eastern Pennsylvania and the Franklin County Area Development Corporation named the company Small Business of the Year for Franklin County, Pennsylvania. 

Jocelyne is a Certified Indoor Environmentalist.  Having personally suffered from the effects of environmental contaminants, she is empathetic to families, employees, and building owners who are sensitive to contaminants or have been impacted by poor indoor environments.  As CEO of Baxter Group, Inc., her team seeks to find the source of environmental issues that may impact one’s health and eliminate them.  Investigating root causes, cleaning the environment and creating a healthier environment for its occupants – What did You Breathe Today?

Baxter Group, Inc. is an environmental testing and remediation company serving the South Central PA, Western MD, and Eastern Panhandle of WV areas.  Started in 1989 as an asbestos abatement company, Baxter Group, Inc. has expanded its services to include testing and abatement of asbestos, lead, mold, radon, and indoor environmental contaminants.  Baxter Group, Inc. also performs HVAC duct cleanliness inspections, duct cleaning services, basement waterproofing, and selective demolition, renovation and restoration services.  Their clients include residential, commercial, government, education and healthcare clients, including prime contractors, property managers, facility managers, real estate agents, home inspectors, and those responsible for indoor environments.

Baxter Group, Inc. takes pride in providing clients with knowledge and understanding of environmental hazards.  Through their BREATHE HEALTHY INITIATIVE and its educational programs, they provide knowledge and understanding of indoor environmental concerns, how to address them, and how to prevent them.
